A. Thomas Truesdell was appointed as the first attorney magistrate in the 14A District Court by Judge Kenneth Bronson on January 23, 1986. He presides in all divisions of the 14A District Court located in Ypsilanti, Chelsea, Saline and Ann Arbor. He is currently a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Ypsilanti Bar Association. Magistrate Truesdell received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1966. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Detroit College of Law in 1969. Prior to being appointed magistrate, he was practicing law for 15 years specializing in commercial transactions and probate proceedings. Magistrate Truesdell has taught Business law as an Adjunct Professor at Eastern Michigan University. He has, also, been a guest speaker on Retirement and Probate issues for the Ford Motor Company. He currently is treasurer of the Michigan Association of District Court Magistrates and has served previously as President, Vice-President and Board member for the last 15 years. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Michigan Association of District Court Magistrates in September of 2002. Magistrate Truesdell received the Gold Medallion Award from Eastern Michigan University for program of court services with the Division of Student Affairs. on May 17, 2012 5:17 pm
