14A District Court, Michigan

The 14A District Court presides over the following matters within its jurisdiction: General Civil, Small Claims, Landlord-Tenant, Criminal, Domestic Violence, and Civil Infractions.

Civil Jurisdiction includes:

• General Civil matters with claims up to $25,000
• Landlord-Tenant matters with claims up to $25,000
• Small Claims matters with claims up to $3,000

Note: You can file a civil claim in the District Court where the defendant resides, or where the alleged action occured.  All cases are heard at two locations- 14A-1 (Pittsfield Twp) or 14A-4 (Saline)

Criminal and Civil Infraction Jurisdiction includes:

• Misdemeanors punishable by less than one year in jail
• Civil Infractions requesting a Formal Hearing
