The 14A District Court presides over the following matters within its jurisdiction: General Civil, Small Claims, Landlord-Tenant, Criminal, Domestic Violence, and Civil Infractions.

Civil Jurisdiction includes:

General Civil matters with claims up to $25,000
Landlord-Tenant matters with claims up to $25,000
Small Claims matters with claims up to $3,000

Note: You can file a civil claim in the District Court where the defendant resides, or where the alleged action occured.

All Civil Infractions not set for Formal Hearing are filed at 14A-6, Traffic Bureau, with the exception of City of Ann Arbor and Township of Ypsilanti.
